Personality:
Just like any other Spider-Man, Miles is a normal kid behind the costume, with his own dreams and goals in life. He's a friendly young man who, no matter where he's at, has no problem with starting conversations with others. When walking through his home borough, Miles will greet just about everyone on his path—dogs and cats not withstanding. Even in a situation where he might trip over his shoelaces, or get embarrassed by his father in front of the whole school, Miles will attempt to smooth the situation out with a bright smile and friendly banter. This isn't to be confused with confidence, however, as Miles is still rather awkward despite his friendly demeanor. Often, while his friendliness on the surface has him in and out of social situations in rapid time, his internal monologue is full of self-chastising and loathing when he perceives his own slip ups and embarrassments. In a way, Miles' friendliness is mostly a means of appearing more put together than he actually is, as he struggles with growing into his own skin as any teenager does.
One of the biggest influences on him has always been his family, who have loved and supported him his entire life. Between his mother, father and uncle, Miles has never lacked for a strong support system that has always had his back. It's by his nurse mother and policeman father's influence that Miles is altruistic—always believing in a method that benefits everyone, and that no one should be left behind. This further influences how he is as Spider-Man, as he will always opt for the more personally dangerous method, if it means he can save everyone. Yet, sometimes Miles' altruism can simply turn to stubbornness, which is seen when he tells Peter he has to make Kingpin pay for killing his uncle, or when he tries to get back to his own dimension to save his father, disrupting canon. Miles doesn't care about the stickiness of revenge, canon events, or if there is a possibility of unraveling dimensions—in his words, it's Spider-Man's duty to save everyone, no matter the risk. More than anything, Miles sees injustice as anything that's deemed to be unfair, no matter how sound the logic behind it might be, and questions whether it truly is right or not.
Coming back to his family, it's by his uncle Aaron's influence that he became as artistic as he is. Often Miles will dance, drum out a beat on any surface he can get his hands on, or hum and sing along to songs to calm down—things he's picked up on by spending time with Aaron at his apartment. Miles' true love, however, is found in visual art, as he spends most of his free time drawing in his sketchbook or throwing up paint on a wall. Even when Miles was assigned a paper to write, in which he had to detail out his own great expectations, the lined paper stayed blank and he illustrated out his feelings in his sketchbook instead, before putting it up on a wall at Aaron's insistence.
In the end, Miles is a passionate young man who throws his all into everything. Whether it's saving the day as Spider-Man, and refusing to let anyone slip through the cracks—or if it's defying his policeman father, when he keeps throwing his art up on walls and street signs, keen to express himself and be seen by the world. Miles is full of fire and spirit, and easily recognizable not just by his peers and community as himself, but is beloved by all as Brooklyn's one and only Spider-Man.
